Assistant Professor of Business (Tenure-Track)
Job Description
Assistant Professor of Business (Tenure-Track) -Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business with a focus in Entrepreneurship and experience and interest in Finance starting in August 2025. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growing institution committed to inspiring curiosity and fostering deep thinking in
a liberal arts environment. The salary range is $55,000-$70,000, depending on a candidate’s experience.
Qualifications:
● A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business, Finance, or Economics is preferred. An MBA or a Master's degree in related fields combined with relevant professional experience will also be considered.
● Undergraduate teaching experience is highly preferred.
● A demonstrated commitment to liberal arts education is essential.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
● Teach courses needed by the discipline and division, and college, including courses in Entrepreneurship, Finance, and other courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise.
● Teach a sequence of Entrepreneurship courses for the Business Capstone required for all Business Major and Social Entrepreneurship Minor seniors.
● Engage in a 21 load-hour teaching schedule.
● Work across disciplines to develop experiential learning opportunities for students in the recently-created social entrepreneurship minor.
● Contribute to the College's robust academic culture by engaging in appropriate scholarly activity and, where possible, involving and mentoring students in that agenda.
● Serve on college committees; advise Business majors; participate in recruiting activities as appropriate; engage in curricular development and assessment efforts; and engage with the surrounding community.
