Summary of Position

The Legal Residency Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Legal Residency Director, Legal Residency adjunct faculty, and Legal Residency students.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience in higher education or the legal field, strong organization skills, and the ability to work with various constituents.

Additional Job Information

This is a non-benefited, part-time position of 20 hours per week. The position requires hours be worked primarily during standard business days/hours (M-F from 8:30am-5pm with a few exceptions for evening hours as related to job responsibilities) and requires being on-campus, in-person (hybrid work options will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and possibly after an introductory period; fully remote will not be considered because of the nature of the position).

  • COMPLIANCE (20%)
  • Working with Legal Residency Director to ensure compliance with relevant ABA Standards and Academic Rules
  • Working with the Legal Residency Director to ensure program compliance with NH Department of Labor Standards
  • Verifying field placements’ registration with the NH Department of Labor
  • MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION (10%)
  • Communicating with residency placements and students as needed
  • Advertising and communicating the Legal Residency program and deadlines to the student population
  • EVENT PLANNING (10%)
  • Scheduling and organizing the Legal Residency Info Session each semester
  • Planning Legal Residency events
  • ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION (30%)
  • Managing the Legal Residency application process
  • Coordinating with the Legal Residency Director and other departments to implement deadlines/timelines for students who would like to participate in a Legal Residency
  • Sending beginning of the semester letters to placements with student info and the field supervisor manual
  • Ensuring that all placements have a Legal Residency Agreement on file
  • Managing the schedule for the Legal Residency Director
  • Ordering supplies for the department
  • Preparing spreadsheets with student information for Legal Residency Director and adjunct faculty prior to the start of the semester
  • Sending and tracking the mid-semester and final evaluations to the field placements
DATA MANAGEMENT (20%)
  • Creating files for students interested in Legal Residencies and ensuring all required documents are submitted
  • Maintaining files and database on possible Legal Residency placements
  • Gathering and organizing data about student’s confirmed Legal Residency placements
  • Following up with students to ensure files are complete before the start of the semester
  • Coordinating with the Registrar’s office to ensure students are registered correctly and class sections are distributed properly for adjuncts
OTHER DUTIES (10%)
  • Assist the Faculty Administrative Support team as needed and available
