The Department of Neurosciences (http://neurosciences.ucsd.edu) at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Division Chief of Child Neurology at UC San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and advance a dynamic, growing division within a top-10 academic institution and freestanding children's hospital.
The selected candidate will collaborate with a large, diverse team of pediatric neurologists (currently 24 physicians on staff) engaged in clinical research and trials, basic science research, teaching, and patient care within our rapidly expanding Child Neurology Division.
The selected candidate will advance the clinical, educational, and research missions of the department, while maintaining a strong track record of scholarly contributions, including research and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Candidates interested in pediatric nervous system disorders, program development, leadership, and leading clinical and/or research programs related to Child Neurology are encouraged to apply.
The appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Candidates must have a MD and be Board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
