Must be available to work flexible shifts during the day and occasional evenings as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Administers testing in the College Testing Center and ensures placement testing is proctored in a secure and standardized environment. Due to potential conflicts of interest, current Community College students cannot be considered for this position. The Proctor reports to the Testing Center Specialist.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Proctor students via security camera and by direct supervision including remote proctoring.
  • Initiate proprietary tests, give directions, and enforce security requirements.
  • Maintain proprietary software (upload/download files).
  • Use proprietary software (Pearson, Vue, CLEP, Accuplacer, PAX, Certiport, NHA, VetMedTeam, ALEKS) to administer tests.
  • Maintain certifications in proprietary software.
  • Use Ellucian, Outlook, Excel, and Word for administering tests, data entry, and/or word processing.
  • Use multi-line telephone systems and the testing center inbox to schedule testing appointments and triage and field questions.
  • Copy, scan and/or print documents related to placement and the business office and forward documents to the appropriate personnel.
  • File new and completed tests.
  • Collaborate with faculty regarding testing needs.
  • Maintain security of the area at the end of the business day.
  • Collect payment for retakes and keep it secure.
  • Clean used workstations at the end of the day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successfully complete proprietary proctor certification test upon hire
  • One year’s experience in customer service
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, and file management skills
  • One year’s experience in data entry
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts during the day and occasional evenings as needed
  • Must be positive, cooperative, and supportive

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
  • Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
  • Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand, and convey subject matter
  • Repetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

College campus, direct contact with diverse students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe work place practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and College policies. Work hours may vary <29 hours per week.
