The hiring salary for this position will be from the min to mid-point of the salary range.The IMT Technician III is primarily responsible for providing Lab and Academic support as one of the department’s senior technical experts for lab and end user computing systems. The IMT Technician III manages, maintains, and administers the college’s computer lab and remote management and monitoring tools and maintains the operational aspects of all computing systems to ensure that college’s assets are ready for use. Additionally, the individual in this position provides desktop administration services (RMM management, software installation package creation, desktop computer configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance) and first and second level user technical support.

50% - Hardware Configuration and Deployment
- Sets the standard for computer lab equipment and software deployment to each workstation for all college campuses and ensures that the design, integration and implementation of every computer lab are consistent with the required industry standards. Closely coordinates computer lab support and activities with other TSS technical personnel by providing a benchmark for consistency, college wide to ensure the delivery of reliable technical services and resolve work orders in accordance with TSS customer service standards.
- Responsible for configuring computer labs and desktop computers for use at the college. This individual will also create and maintain all software installation packages within the KACE application. This individual will ensure proper inventory and asset tracking or computer hardware.
- Configures microcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment to meet end user requirements, while remaining in compliance with department/college policies, guidelines and configuration standards.
- Develops, implements, and maintains with proper authorization a plan for proactive maintenance, upgrade and replacement of hardware and software components that is integrated into the college’s instructional Technology Infrastructure Plan
30% - Inventory and Disposition
- Works with the Software Purchasing Specialist to ensure software licensing requirements are enforced and provides inventory information for software licensing agreements.
- Assists in the disposition of equipment that is no longer serviceable using applicable college procedures.
20% - Planning and Documentation
- Collaborates with the department’s staff to develop and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures. Assists in the coordination of TSS disaster recovery plans. Executes network and telecommunications disaster recovery plans and procedures as required.
- Contributes to the college strategic planning efforts and helps develop and implement college technology plans.
- Provides documentation for departmental monthly and annual reports.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available and emerging network and microcomputer technologies. Evaluates and makes appropriate recommendations for both evolutionary and revolutionary changes and improvements to the college’s network infrastructure.
- Plans for immediate initiatives (three months out) as well as upcoming initiatives for the next year which require analysis of assessment measures and trends to predict. Priorities dictate, often causing a shift in task focus.
- As new initiatives are addressed, creativity is used in developing standard processes and workflows.
- Responsible for monitoring expenses related to purchasing, upgrading, and maintaining the documentation library.
- Responsible for authoring original documents describing all administrative processes, procedures and workflows related to all responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Education and Training
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting microcomputers and associated technologies in Help Desk or IMT Technical Customer Service.
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in a technical team environment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience providing end-user training desired.
Licenses, Certifications, or Additional Requirements
- Minimum of one industry certification in (A+, Net+, Microsoft MSP/MCSE or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required for phone, email, and face-to-face correspondence with personnel at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to interpret and translate technical terms for non-technical persons.
- Working knowledge of desktop computer operating systems and the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair desktop PC’s and peripherals.
- Ability to embrace and adapt quickly to rapidly changing technology.
- Ability to follow established procedures and create innovative ways to complete new initiatives and improve efficiency for processes in place.
The work is mostly sedentary work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally with the ability to frequently move large boxes such as paper for print/copy needs. This position requires some flexibility as overtime may be required occasionally related to specific needs/projects.
