Student Worker - Advising, Counseling & Enrollment Services- General Clerical-Customer Service

Position Summary
The Advising, Counseling & Enrollment Services Department is hiring a Part Time Student worker for a General Clerical/Customer Service position. This position works to logistically support the Administrative Assistant III in the delivery of student-centered support services for the two highly active departments of Advising & Counseling Service and Enrollment Services. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while assisting in fostering an environment of exceptional customer service. This position assists in the supports of Signature Events and department activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, processing of mail, data entry as needed for events
- Assist with the scheduling onboarding/ academic advising appointments for Enrollment Services and Advising & Counseling staff as needed
- Assist with restocking Food Bank orders for JP’s market
- Triage student traffic and assist with students with general questions related to the enrollment process, support services and academic advising.
- Assist with preparation for Enrollment Services events.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Advising & Counseling; Enrollment Services Directors and staff
Qualifications
- Enrollment in minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session.
- Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses.
- English proficiency
- Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
- Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
- Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading event supplies, booth equipment, office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
