Description

The Iowa Western Business and Community Education is seeking motivated adjunct instructors for a variety of industry areas: Health, EMS, Logistics, Manufacturing, Business and IT. Adjunct Instructors will be expected to teach in a variety of modalities; face to face, lab, and online. Instructors will provide high customer service to ensure the success of the students. Business and Community Education offers classes throughout SW Iowa and Omaha/Council Bluffs.

Job Duties

Instructors are required to provide high quality instruction to their students. In addition, instructors will work with the coordinators to ensure attendance is taken, curriculum is up to date, syllabus is accurate, and final reporting is completed.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have received formal training and have four years work experience in the subject matter they teach.
• Depending on the industry, licenses or certifications may be required to instruct.
• Hiring process includes the ability to pass a background check.
• Prior experience teaching adults.
• Proficiency in using presentation software.
• High level of interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

Physical Demands of Essential Functions:

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
• The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
• Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
