Welding Adjunct Instructor
Job Description
Under genera! supervision, the adjunct instructor will be responsible for providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the technical competencies essential to the Welding Technology program during evening classes. The instructor will need to be able to pass a Stick Pipe test 6G 6010/7018 and a Tig Pipe test 6G. The instructor will perform all aspects of instructions for the Welding Technology program: effectively use oral and written communication skills and contain knowledge of current in-field procedures, complete all reports and records in a timely manner, maintain accurate inventory of all assigned properties, and maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards Applicants must be motivated, organized, and able to work collegially in a professional environment. The selected candidate must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking. The selected candidate must also withstand a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with possible exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in a lab environment. You must be able to work with minimum supervision, effectively use oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures. Minimum Qualifications: • Diploma in Welding or related field and related work experience. • Ability to pass a Stick Pipe test 6G 6010/7018 and a Tig Pipe test 6G • Related work experience Preferred Qualifications: • Experience developing and teaching lessons individually and in classroom environments. • Knowledge of online instruction and gradebooks • More than five years related work experience Salary/Benefits: Pay based on course load each semester. |
