Job Summary/Basic Function:
Nestled between the scenic Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound in an increasingly diverse and fast-growing region of the country, Everett Community College is seeking a tenure-track Early Childhood Education instructor to begin serving in the Winter quarter of 2025.

Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching Early Childhood Education courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities that lead to certificates. Associate of Technical Arts, or Associate of Arts and Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Para Education, or Education. This may include teaching at offsite locations.

Through our Guided Pathways Advising model, full-time faculty also serve as program advisors for students. Faculty in these areas are assigned a caseload each year in line with the AFT Faculty Contract. These duties include, but are not limited to, building and maintaining professional relationships with advisees to support them in their goals, creating, reviewing and approving academic plans; providing career and/or transfer advice; and making referrals to appropriate EvCC support services.

Other specific duties include the following:
  • develop and coordinate curriculum to improve student success and retention and meet the changing educational needs of students
  • identify and implement procedures/techniques to assess individual student learning,
  • participate in assessment of course, program, and college learning outcomes
  • maintain regularly scheduled office hours for the purpose of assisting, advising, and mentoring students
  • collaborate with faculty and staff on department, division and campus-wide projects;
  • participate in all other tasks related to instruction in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and College policies.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education learning environments
  • Community college or university-level teaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience and classroom strategies for effectively facilitating learning for students from diverse backgrounds, including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (such as Canvas or Blackboard) as a student or a teacher
  • Asset-based approach when interacting with students, faculty, and staff across the college
