Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning for instruction – on campus and online
- Developing curriculum
- Assessing student learning
- Maintaining student records
- Interacting positively with students and staff
- Recruiting and retaining students
- Maintaining professional skills and credentials
- Assisting with departmental activities
- Participating on college committees
- Participating in professional development activities
- Teaching courses in biology and psychology
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (must meet both by Fall Semester 2024):
Biology
- Master’s degree with a major in biology or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in biology.
AND
Psychology
- Master’s degree with a major in psychology
- Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching college-level biology and psychology courses
- Experience evaluating student performance in the classroom in accordance with college guidelines and curricula.
- Experience creating and teaching online classes.
- Teaching philosophy that supports a student-ready/growth mindset focused approach.
- Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities.
- Ability to work as a positive team member.
Other Requirements
NOTICE: In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
